This summer sees a major landmark in the history of DataSalon – it’s 20 years since Nick Andrews and Jon Monday set up the company, creating its flagship product MasterVision to give publishers a joined-up view of multiple databases without having to replace or upgrade existing systems.
Nick and Jon are still with the company, as are our first two clients, Oxford University Press and BMJ. Nick and Jon have been supplemented by further talented staff, while OUP and BMJ have been joined by many other happy customers – many of the world’s biggest scholarly publishers now rely on DataSalon for their data insights.
We’ve seen many big milestones along the way – the introduction of a second product, PaperStack, to provide a complete reporting suite for the scholarly submissions process; the adoption of a four-day week; and, most recently, the move to employee ownership. But, amongst all these changes, our core values have remained the same: we provide flexible and affordable solutions, trusted advice, quick turnarounds, and excellent service and support.
Our future plans are focused on maintaining our position as a leading supplier of data insight solutions for scholarly publishers: we’ll continue to monitor industry developments, support our clients in meeting the challenges they face, and keep up with our roadmap of enhancements to MasterVision and PaperStack.
We’d like to extend a big thank you to all of our clients – we look forward to working with you for many more years to come.
